SSC, HSC, চাকরি পরিক্ষা সকল ক্ষেত্রে ইংরেজিতে tense হল খুবই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। Tense এর গঠন বা নিয়ম সমূহ আপনি না জানলে আপনি ইংরেজি ভালো দক্ষতা অর্জন করতে পারবেন না৷
আজকে আমরা জানব Tense কাকে বলে কত প্রকার ও কি কি এবং ১২ টি tense এর গঠন সম্পর্কে ধারণা থাকবে।

Tense কাকে বলে?

কোন sentence যে ক্রিয়া বা verb সম্পাদন করা হয়, সেটির সময়কে tense বলা হয়।

Tense কত প্রকার ও কি কি?

tense এই সময়কালে তিন ধরনের রয়েছে, অর্থাৎ tense কে তিন ভাগে ভাগ করা হয়। তা হল

• Present Tense (বর্তমান কাল)
• Past Tense (ভবিষ্যৎ কাল)
• Future Tense (অতীত কাল)

১২ টি tense এর গঠন সমূহ

Present Indefinite Tense

কোন কাজ বা ক্রিয়া যদি বর্তমানে করা হয়, কিংবা ঐ কাজটি নিয়মিত করা হয় বা কোন চিরন্তন সত্য হয়ে থাকে তখন present Indefinite tense ব্যবহৃত হয়।

Present Indefinite tense এর গঠন

Structure : Sub + verb + object

Example : Present indefinite tense

• I go to school every day.
• The sun rises in the east and sets in the west. subject 3rd person Singular number হলে verb এর সাথে s/es যুক্ত হয়।
• The birds sing in the morning.

Present Continuous Tense

যখন কোন কাজ বর্তমানে চলমান থাকে বা ঘটছে এমন কাজ বোঝানোর জন্য Present Continuous Tense ব্যবহার করা হয়।

Present Continuous Tense এর গঠন

Structure : Sub + am/is/are + verb (img যুক্ত) + object

Examples

• I am writing a letter.
• The sun is rising.
• The birds are singing.

Present Perfect Tense

যখন কোন কাজ এইমাত্র সম্পূর্ণ শেষ হয়েছে, কিন্তু এর ফল এখনো চলমান রয়েছে এরুপ বোঝাতে গেলে present perfect tense ব্যবহার করা হয়৷

Present Perfect tense এর গঠন

Structure : Sub + have/has + verb (past partciple form) + object

Examples:

• The train has left the station just now. (ট্রেনটি এই মুহুর্তে স্টেশন থেকে ছাড়ল।
• I have finished my home work. (আমি আমার বাড়ীর কাজ সম্পন্ন করেছি।)
• The shop has opened just now. (দোকানটি এইমাত্র খোলা হয়েছে।)

Present Perfect Continuous Tense

যখন কোনো কাজ বর্তমানে একটি নির্দিষ্ট সময় ধরে চলমান থাকে বা ঘটছে তখন present perfect continuous tense ব্যবহার করা হয়।

Present perfect continuous tense এর গঠন

Structure : Sub + have/has + been + verb (ing যুক্ত) + object

Examples

• I have been writing a letter for an hour.
• The sun has been rising for centuries.
• The birds have been singing for hours.

Past Indefinite Tense

অতীতের কোন সাধারণ ঘটনা বা নিয়মিত কোন ঘটনা বর্ণনা করতে এই Past Indefinite Tense এর ব্যবহার করা হয়।

Past Indefinite Tense এর গঠন

Structure : Sub + verb (past participle tense) + object

Examples

• The birds sang in the morning.
• The teacher explained the lesson to the students.
• The students listened to the teacher.

Past Continuous Tense

Past Continuous Tense ব্যবহার করা হয় যখন কোনো কাজ অতীতে চলমান ছিল বা ঘটছিল।

• I was writing a letter.
• The sun was rising.

Past Perfect Tense

Future Indefinite Tense

ভবিষ্যতের কোন সাধারণ কাজ বা নিয়মিত জরা হবে বোঝালে Future Indefinite Tense ব্যবহার করতে হবে।

Future Indefinite Tense এর গঠন

Structure : Sub + Will/Shall + verb (present form) + object

Examples

• I will go to school tomorrow.
• The sun will rise in the east tomorrow.
• The birds will sing in the morning.

Future Continuous

ভবিষ্যতে কোন কাজ চলামন বোঝানোর জন্যই Future Continuous tense ব্যবহার করা হয়।

Structure : sub + will/shall + be + verb (ing) + object

Examples

• I will be writing a letter at 7pm tonight.
• The sun will be rising at 6am tomorrow morning.
• The birds will be singing at dawn.

Future Perfect Tense

ভবিষ্যতে কোন কাজ একটি নির্দিষ্ট সময়ে শেষ হবে বোঝালে তখন future perfect tense ব্যবহার করা হয়।

Examples

• I will have written the letter by 7pm tonight.
• The sun will have risen by 6am tomorrow morning.
• The birds will have sung by dawn.

Future Perfect Continuous Tense

ভবিষ্যতের কোন কাজ বা ঘটনা একটি নির্দিষ্ট সময় ধরে চলমান থাকবে এমন বোঝালে future perfect continuous tense ব্যবহার করা হয়।

Structure : sub + will/shall + have/has + been + verb (ing যুক্ত) + object

Examples

• I will have been writing the letter for an hour by 7pm tonight.
